Another Short Tuesday Update
Saw Star Wars. It was amazing. Very happy with it.
So for the update: nothing much. Between Christmas and my job, I haven’t gotten much done as of late. However, I am inching my way forward and have gotten some stuff done. Still planning on getting you that Valentine’s Day Short Story in February.
Until next week!
More Tuesday Updates
So, this update is going to be a little short. I started a new job just a few weeks ago and it’s very physically demanding. So much so, in fact, that between that and Christmas/family stuff, I haven’t gotten much writing done. So there’s only two things I think you need to know:
One, starting January 1st, Robots and Vampires will be free on Kindle for five days. Call it a New Year’s special. If you do download it, please review.
Second, I’m writing a short story for Valentine’s Day. It will be posted on the website.
That’s about it. Hope you all enjoy your holidays!

Tuesday Update
So, time for the weekly update! Some big things this week have happened, and I want to share them with you.
First, work on the series bible is going great, but there’s still a lot of work to be done. I’ve hammered out the themes I want to explore and am now working on the rules of my different monsters. Primarily vampires, of course, but as readers of both The Black Coats and Robots and Vampires know, there are a large number of other monsters inhabiting this universe. That means a lot of rules to hammer out and balance, but it’s going very well. The vampires themselves are almost done, and then it’s the lycanthropes and all the rest. I won’t spoil all the monsters I’ve got planned just yet, but they’re all pretty awesome.
Second, I’m continuing to learn both Italian and Gaelige on Duolingo. The goal for this is to add to the characterization of my characters (allow them to speak the languages their supposed to be, instead of just telling you that’s what their speaking) and to help me develop languages for all of my monsters. That, admittedly, is going to be late in the development period and won’t effect any release schedules.
Third, and most important, is the fact that I’m working on building a Patreon page. It’s not up yet, but it’s my goal to have it up and running by next week. Any help on that front would be appreciated.
Fourth, starting next month Robots and Vampires will be available on Amazon for free for five days. It will also include an updated description as will The Black Coats.
Lastly, I need a name for my universe and I’m having trouble coming up with something suitable. Would any of my followers be interested in voting in a poll? Let me know in the comments!
Confession Time
Hello, my name is Josh Stoodley and I am a pantser.
(Hi Josh!)
But today I’m changing that. Today, I am going to start planning out the entire Standard Tech Case Files series. No more writing by the seat of my pants!
(Clapping)
Thank you. So, what does this mean? Mostly, it means no more short stories for a while. On the other hand, once I’m done my planning, the short stories and novels should all be much better. I will continue to update this blog with my progress every Tuesday.
In the meantime, don’t forget to check out Robots and Vampires (http://amzn.to/1ImcA5Y) and The Standard Tech Case Files: The Black Coats (http://amzn.to/1ImcZFz) on Amazon. And please, leave a review.
Until next week.

The Vampire Club
by Josh Stoodley
Gloria Jones, a nineteen year old dame with dark brown skin, a broad, flat nose, light brown eyes and thick curly hair that spread across her pillow like so many ocean waves, woke with the kind of scream usually reserved for pretty blonds in B horror movies. Which wasn’t surprising, seeing as she had spent the last few minutes trapped in another nightmare, forced by her subconscious to relive her sister’s murder time and time again. No human can withstand that kind of self-inflicted torture for long, and Gloria’s horrified shriek had been long expected by the only other occupant in the room, a small pure white puppy with red tips on her ears and dark eyes. The pup, on hearing Gloria mutter and moan, climbed up onto Gloria’s bed from her own bed at the side and snuggled in beside her person, doing whatever she could to help the young dame through the misery currently plaguing her.Read More
The Vampire Club is…
Finished. And will be up tomorrow.
In the meantime, don’t forget to check out my previous two novels: Robots and Vampires, a post-cyberpunk story about a young cyborg seeking justice and acceptance in post-war America (http://amzn.to/1Higpc0) and The Standard Tech Case Files: The Black Coats about chief vampire cop Joey Bianco and his squire Jen Ryan as they battle corruption and seek justice for the death of one Akisha Jones (http://amzn.to/1Tab2gw). And don’t forget to leave a review!
The Vampire Club Update
In between last week’s update and this, I did fall a little behind on The Vampire Club, but I’ve gotten back on track and it will be out next week sometime.
In the meantime, you can check out my first two novels: Robots and Vampires (http://amzn.to/1lsWWvi) about dystopic, fractured United States of America, and The Standard Tech Case Files: The Black Coats (http://amzn.to/1lsX26e), about the vampire Joey Bianco and his squire, Jen Ryan, and their attempts to bring Akisha Jones’ killer to justice.
