The most unrealistic part of this exchange is a politician correctly identifying why people are upset. A quick perusal of American politicians, opinion writers, and the sub-intelligent single-celled organism that is BlueSky, would show you pretty quickly that politicians and their bootlickers cannot at any level understand regular human beings.

Like I’ve said before, the subtitles don’t usually mess up but hoo boy this one here is a doozy. The subtitles list this poor guy’s name as “Nanao=A” when it should be “Nanao Ei.”

Also, I don’t think the SIU is being duped. Cops are generally dumb, even dumber than the people they police, and people will naturally gravitate to the guy who looks most guilty.

It kind of kills me that people, ranging from regular joes to writers to techno-fascists, have largely ignored the real technological revolution going on under our noses. AI (probably) isn’t totally useless, but the driver of the next singularity will be green energy. The current bottleneck on humanity isn’t productivity; it’s the fact that all our technology is currently poisoning the planet. Change that, and we unlock pretty much everything. From AI to space exploration to… anything else you can imagine.

The SAC writers have way more faith in humanity than is warranted. People today can’t tell the difference between AI generated bs, a bad photoshop job or basic reality! I’d say we’re a doomed species, but the truth is we’re too weird to die.
