I was going to do a post about Alpoge and him providing a discreet counterexample to the Jacobian Conjecture today, but the more I thought about, the more I wondered what the hell the point was? Boosters are going to boost and doomers are going to doom, and the much more mundane reality of Alpoge’s discovery will be totally ignored. Frankly, neither group is worth my time or effort, so why bother?
