Legends of Infernia: This Time, It’s Serious

Greetings my fellow response generators! It is I, Josh Stoodley, here with more of the content you love and deserve!

So, first things first. I am no longer on Twitter. I have, and have always had, a massive anger problem. Twitter exacerbated that problem and was slowly turning me into a hyper-aggressive jerk, both online and in real life.

Frankly, that’s what Twitter turns everybody into. We all just sit there, sniping at each other, convinced the other person is a troll or a bot while blind to our own behaviour. It is, and this is by no means a new observation, a website designed to enhance our worst impulses for somebody else’s bottom line.

Well, okay then. I can control other people on Twitter. I can’t control Twitter. But I can control myself. I can say ‘no, Mr. Twitter CEO, I will not play your game. I won’t become angry just so you can profit off my public suicide.’

Okay, that came off as a little self-congratulatory. But it’s true. I do think my anger was killing me, and I got tired of being played like a puppet by some faceless corporate drone. No, it was time to move on.

Now what, you are all wondering, does that to have to with Legends of Infernia, the game I was screwing around with on RPG Maker?

Well.

I have completed an outline for Legends of Infernia. Rather than just screwing around, seeing what I can do, I’m going to make this into an actual game. A long game, too, judging by the outline.

And the thing of it is, Legends of Infernia is a meditation on anger and all the ways it harms us. It is, hilariously enough, an angry tirade against anger.

Next week, I will have a Fandom Heresy post about Dune and Avatar. The series on Alan Moore and The Killing Joke will have to wait; as that, too, was a product of my rage, it needs to undergo a serious rethink.
